GCIStrikeProfile: Complete Reference Guide

By GammaContext · Product documentation

GCIStrikeProfile plots the full per-strike profile as horizontal bars alongside your price chart: the same view as the portal's side histogram, now inside NT8. Before continuing, activate your Key (activation guide).

What It Shows

Each bar represents a strike. The bar's length is proportional to the magnitude of the selected metric at that strike, and its color shows the sign (positive/negative). You can choose between three metrics:

Metric What it measures Available in
GEX (volume or open interest) Aggregated gamma exposure at that strike 0DTE, 1DTE, ALL
Convexity Second-order shape of the dealer's exposure at that strike 0DTE, 1DTE
DEX (Delta Exposure) Net directional delta exposure (long or short) at that strike 0DTE, 1DTE

Only GEX is available in ALL. If you have Convexity or DEX selected and switch to ALL, the indicator automatically falls back to GEX and shows the reason on screen; switching back to 0DTE or 1DTE restores your previous metric.

About DEX: unlike GEX and Convexity, DEX is a directional measure. Its sign doesn't read the same way as the other two metrics: positive and negative in DEX represent long or short delta exposure, not "dampens/accelerates" like GEX and Convexity.

Parameters

Group 01. License

Parameter Type Default What it does
Key text empty Your GammaContext license Key

Group 02. Data

Parameter Type Default What it does
Instrument dropdown NQ The asset to follow: NQ, ES, or CL
Expiration dropdown 0DTE The series expiration: 0DTE, 1DTE, or ALL
Metric dropdown to be confirmed (Joel) GEX, Convexity, or DEX
Gex Basis dropdown Volume Only applies when Metric = GEX: Volume or Open Interest

Group 03. Layout

Parameter Type Default What it does
Side dropdown Right Which side of the panel the bars grow from: Right or Left
Max Bar Width number (px) 300 Pixel width of the bar for the strike with the largest magnitude
Show Strike Labels on/off OFF Shows the strike number next to each bar
Bar Thickness number (%) 30 Thickness of each bar, as a percentage of available space
Bar Opacity number (%) 60 Opacity of the bars

Group 04. Colors (6 parameters, one pair per metric)

Each metric has its own positive/negative color pair. The indicator paints with the active metric's pair; switching metrics switches the color pair.

Parameter Default (hex) Color
Gex Positive Color #3FCF8E Green
Gex Negative Color #E5484D Red
Convexity Positive Color #38BDF8 Cyan
Convexity Negative Color #EF8A7C Coral
Dex Positive Color #7C3AED Violet
Dex Negative Color #FF7A1A Orange

How It Behaves

  • Switching metrics doesn't reload the feed: changing Metric repaints with the latest data already received for that metric, without disconnecting or re-subscribing.
  • Keeps the last valid profile: if a tick arrives without a full per-strike series, the indicator keeps the last valid profile instead of clearing the chart.
  • Anchored to price: each bar sits on the vertical axis at the strike it represents, following the chart as it moves.
